The Metropolitan Police are in the process of testing facial recognition software ahead of next year's Olympics.
The software is currently being put through it's paces as Police try to identify rioters and looters after the recent trouble in the capital and surrounding areas.
According to the Press Association, facial recognition will be used at the Olympics along with “a range of technologies at the venues to help protect visitors”.
